Friends of All Saints'

The Friends of All Saints', Rampton was formed in August 1997. The main aim of the Friends is to provide a platform for those who are not members of the congregation, yet who have a real interest in this wonderful old church building and its environs, to be more involved in keeping it in good order. It is hoped that the Friends group will assist the Parochial Church Council of All Saints' in raising funds for the renovation and repair of the building, or indeed help in practical ways.

For many hundreds of years, All Saints' Church has served Rampton as a place of worship for its congregations and as a venue for weddings, christenings and funerals for the whole community. Unfortunately the years have taken their toll of the structure of the church building and despite regular maintenance each year brings to light the need for yet more expensive repairs.

While the congregation continue to raise funds for these repairs, the burden is ever increasing. It is partly to assist with this work that the Friends has been formed.

It is important to distinguish between expensive repair costs and the normal, day-to-day running costs of worship and running the parish. Money raised for restoration or improvement of the church building by the Friends will only ever be used for that purpose.

Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in maintaining the church building as a village amenity for this and future generations. The Friends also provides a formal link with All Saints' for those who have left the Parish.

The Friends is run by a small committee of church members and non-church goers. Funds come from modest annual or life membership subscriptions, donations, and occasional fund-raising events, (Concerts, Coffee Mornings etc.) as well as stalls at church Fêtes and other village events.
